"the smile of god is the goal of your life.
"Figure out what will please Christ, then do it. (eph 5:10) eg. noah. because he pleased God, we are alive today.
"1. God smiles when we love him supremely.
-noah consistently followed God's will and enjoyed a close relationship with him.(gen 6:9a)
-God wants a realtionship, and fellowship, with us.
-God made us to love us, and he longs for us to love him back.
-"i don't want your sacrifices-i want your love;i don't want your offerings-i want you to know me."(hosea 6:6)
"2.God smiles when we trust Him completely.
-noah trusted God even when it didn't make sense
-have faith that he knows what is best for your life
-"he takes pleasure in those who honour him;in those who trust in his constant love."(psalm 147:11)
-"withouut faith, it is impossible to please God."(hebrews 11:6)
"3. God smiles when we obey him wholeheartedly.
-"noah did everything as the Lord commanded him."(gen 6:22)
-obey without hesistatoin, reservation or procrastination
-understanding can wait. but obedience can't. instand obedience will teach you more about God that a lifetime of bible studies. in fact, you will never understand some commands until you obey them. obedience unlocks understanding.
-"obey him gladly"(psalm 100:2) -->wholehearted obedience is done enthusiastically, with joy
-obedience shows that you love God...God is pleased
-Jesus said "if you love me, you will obey your commandments."(john 14:15)
"4.God smiles when we praise and thank him continually
-few things feel better than receiving heartfelt praise and appreciation from someone else. God loves it too.
-"sacrifice of praise...thanksgiving.."
"5.God smiles when we use our abilities
-God enjoys watching every detail of your life
-you only bring him enjoyment by being you.
-every human activity, except sin, can be done for god's pleasure if you do it with an attitude of praise.
-every act of enjoyment becomes an act of worship when you thank God for it. "gos....generously gives to us everything for our enjoyment."(1 tim 6:17)
"focus changes from : how much pleaure am i having ...to....how much pleasure is GOD having?
"will you make pleasing God your life? there is nothing that god won't do for a person who is totally absorbed with this goal"
