Soup + water + cook

Earlier today, I smelt soup being boiled and secretly hoped I would get some. A minute ago, I rummaged the pantry to find stuff to cook, and Aunty Lucia came out of her room to offer the soup she just boiled. A big bowl, she scooped. Hehehe :D -- Today is one of those rare try-to-be-good-by-drinking-more-water days. The only thing I don't like about it is that it means I end up going to the toilet more. Not favourable especially in winter - toilet seats can be cold! Haha. But it's okay. Still, good for me. -- Tore off the section in the weekly Coles pamplet whatever you call it thingie, on how to make meatballs. Maybe one day I shall be not-so-lazy and more adventurous and actually plan my cooking by looking up recipes before grocery-shopping. That's when I'll try my hand at not just anything that's stir-fried (ezpz) and mashed potatoes and mushroom sauce (which is really good but making it all the time whenever there's a potluck gets a bit sian). Less talk, m

Seeing Others The Right Way

Image
I read the vine about three to four times a week for some refreshment. Here is today's. Seeing Others The Right Way The Word for Today with Bob Gass "Take Mark… he is profitable… for the ministry." –2 Timothy 4:11 When John Mark decided to take time off to visit his family, it didn't sit too well with Paul. Later when Barnabas wanted to take John Mark on their next mission's trip, Paul exploded! 'The contention became so sharp… they parted from one another… Barnabas took Mark and sailed to Cyprus; but Paul chose Silas' (Acts 15:38-40 NKJV). But the story doesn't end there. Later, an older and wiser Paul who had learned to add grace to his grit, writes, 'For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world… [so] Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry' (2 Timothy 4:10-11). There are three important lessons here for you: 1) Always be willing to give someone a second chance. After all, that's wha

Playjerise at Citylife's Oxygen

Miss Rachel Kam, whom I've known since I was seven, and I, went for Citylife's Oxygen (for young adults) today! At first we sat in the car at the Citylife carpark and deliberated whether to go in or not. So we chatted for about 45 minutes in the car (ohman). Finally we decided to go in and whee we were glad we did. There was a guest band, Playjerise and I was just going ahhhh to Rachel quite a bit because I thought they had some pretty good acoustic sounds and the sound there that night was GOOD man. Really good EQ and whatnot. I've got new ceedees :D -- Love Beyond Reason John Ortberg God did not create us out of need. He created us out of his love. C.S. Lewis wrote, “God, who needs nothing, loves into existence wholly superfluous creatures in order that He may love and perfect them." If I love someone, it means I have certain hopes and intentions and wishes for them. I’m in their corner. I long for them to flourish and blossom. I want them to realize all their pote

Love Beyond Reason by John Ortberg

Standing tall in this wide space Getting lost in Your embrace I see a fire burning brighter It's calling me to catch the flame ( I Feel Like I'm Falling , Hillsong) -- It's time to quote from another book - do another series thingie. This season, we have more of John Ortberg :) Love Beyond Reason John Ortberg We are all of us rag dolls. Flawed and wounded, broken and bent… But we are God’s rag dolls. He knows all about our raggedness, and he loves us anyhow. Our raggedness is no longer the most important thing about us… But we were not created ragged… There is a wonder about you. Raggedness is not your identity. Raggedness is not your destiny, nor is it mine. We may be unlovely, yet we are not unloved. And we cannot be loved without being changed. When people experience love (and here I don’t mean simply having warm feelings towards others, I mean love that is sometimes stern and challenging and may even be painful), they begin to grow lovely.

The kingdom of the heavens is now advancing Invade my heart, invade this broken town The kingdom of the heavens is buried treasure Would you sell yourself to buy the one you've found (Jon Foreman, Your love is strong ) -- Eric is here in Melb! We visited Planetshakers church today. Have fun here Ericccs! Pick nice big red strawberries at Mornington, hopefully the Penguins don't stink, and find the big big worms. I was home (SG) for a week because Mei got married. One week is far too short. Must admit it's a bit tiring and draining in a way; spending so much time out, wanting to meet many people but only being able to meet a few. Spent most time with family. Didn't think I'd be sad to leave at all because all this coming and going is so normal, but I started to tear (okay fine cry) when I went into the gates at the airport! Hi pocky, we are looking cool in sunglasses. Doubt I'd wear such funky ones ever again. I lub chew alls. See you in 200 days. In a way it'
