A New Act of Creation

Adapted from Elisabeth Elliot's "Passion and Purity". A New Act of Creation Calvin Thielman, pastor in montreat, North Carolina, tells the story of an old Scottish preacher who, as he was serving the bread (representation of Jesus' body) and wine (representation of Jesus' blood) of the Lord's supper, noticed a yong girl sobbing at the communion rail (where we usually receive the bread and wine). As he passed her the bread, visible sign of the body of the Lord Jesus ("I give it for the life of the world," He said) the girl turned away her face, which was wet with teasrs. "Tak' it, lassie," said the old man. "It's for sinners". - No sin is too great. He forgives. HE is bigger than all that. Draw near to Him, and He will draw near to you. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up. (James 4)

perfection is finally attained

As Saint Exupery said, “In anything at all, perfection is finally attained not when there is no longer anything to add, but when there is no longer anything to take away.”

The expanse of the sky is just. Wow.

MRT ride to work today, listening to Paul Baloche on my ipod, and looking out. The expanse of the sky is just. Wow. Car rides. Look ahead- looks like the sky does meet the road at the end huh. As a kid, used to wonder when we'd reach where we could touch the sky.

Does God want everything?

Does God want everything? "He gives all. He asks all. One morning I was reading the story of Jesus' feeding of the five thousand. The disciples could find only five loaves of bread and two fishes. "Let me have them," said Jesus. He asked for all. He took them, said the blessing, and broke them before He gave them out. I remembered what a chapel speaker, Ruth Stull of Peru, had said: "If my life is broken when given to Jesus, i is because the pieces will feel a multitude, while a loaf will satisfy only a little lad."" Taken from Elisabeth Elliot's "Passion and Purity". - Am at crossroads. Time to make many decisions. Time to be still. I'm not very good at listening to God's voice, you know. Learning. CCM . That's Christian Contemporary Music, on the radio. Check it out :)

"The flood which had beggared him made him rich."

"The floods washed away home and mill, all the poor man had in the world. But as he stood on the scene of his loss, after the water had subsided, brokenhearted and discouraged, he saw something shining in the bank which the waters had washed bare. "It looks like gold," he said. It was gold. The flood which had beggared him made him rich." -Henry Clay Trumbull - Ohmygoodness. Have you heard of Haha Crabs ? Haha. They're being sold at a little store at Junction 8.

I surrender these into Your hands

All of my ambitions, hopes and plans I surrender these into Your hands - I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know. But God, You know. And that is enough.

The Healing Light Institute of Spirituality

The Healing Light Institute of Spirituality "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." The above speech by Nelson Mandela was orignally written by Marianne Williamson who is the author of other similar material. "Do everything wit

Jesus is the perfect person.

Hungry Kathryn Scott Hungry I come to You For I know You satisfy I am empty But I know Your love does not run dry So I wait for You So I wait for You Broken I run to You For Your arms are open wide I am weary but I know Your touch restores my life So I'll wait for You So I'll wait for You I'm falling on my knees Offering all of me Jesus, You're all this heart is living for - Today, thinking, I was thinking something about Jesus (er. not very proper english? anyway.) And it came to me that... Jesus is the perfect person. I know that must sound very silly to some of you, because well, it's what we've been told, more than once. That Jesus was fully God, fully man, and He was the perfect person. The only perfect person in this world ever. But it was a fresh knowing, this time, when I just... realised it for myself. When I properly understood. A lot of us so called" second generation Christians" (people with Christian parents) have a lot of head knowledge.

1 Cor 4:5

"Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men's hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God." –1 Corinthians 4:5 And sometimes where there is judgement, you also have to pray for mercy. Thank God His mercies are new every morning :) People, be real. Inside out. To everyone, every area of your life. Be real. Don't hide. It's hard to hide. You may think it's hard to come out with the truth. Yes it may be, sometimes. But the fact is that it is harder to hide. He sees the depths of your heart and loves you the same :) - Family dinner again. :) I like. My brother and I had fun singing silly boyband songs. Halfway through I told him- I'm surprised no one has told us to shut up. Cos there was so much noise in the car, the talking and the singing. We have fun, our family.

Guys have a virginty too.

Was talking to this guy one day. He thinks guys don't have a virginity. Um. Okay. Definition of 'virgin' is someone who is inexperienced. Never done a certain something before. So. When we talk about a virgin in the area of sex, doesn't mean guys don't have a hymen that gets torn during sex (though that isn't an accurate measure because a hymen can get torn due to other factors), means there's no such thing as virginity for guys okay. So yes. Guys, you have a virginity too. Okay I know this is so weird. But it is EDUCATIONAL okay.

Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD

"Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him." -Jeremiah 17:7 (NIV) Where do you find your confidence? How about your security? Is it in people, in money, in finding acceptance, in having to always be the "best", I don't know. We try to find security in many things, but we must remember that real security can only be found in God. Because God doesn't change, unlike all the other stuff. When you find security in God, when your confidence is in Him, then you'll have nothing to fear, you don't need to work so hard, try so hard, get upset so easily. Instead things will be okay. As long as you trust Him :) "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight." - Proverbs 3:5,6 (One of my favourite verses :) ) Today for company devotion, we were asked if we were satisfied with our lives now. I gave myself an eight out of ten.

a relationship is about commitment

Was talking to a friend about some stuff. And well, here's part of it. - i think a relationship is about commitment? because okay, you say it's about love right? but see, love is about commitment (oh i've been reading all the stuff about marriage and all that cos of my fyp/work. haha) the "feeling" really doesn't stay there forever. you have to...make it work. i guess it's like serving in a way— the more you serve someone, the more you love that person, so the more you'll serve that person, so you'll love that person more— it's a cycle. maybe love works that same way? so ultimately it's about commitment? so actually i think not "feeling" for a person isn't really good ground for breaking up. better ground would be if after dating, you find out you're not compatible for marriage, so the two people break up. (hopefully amicably) enjoy your time of singlehood. you know what i think sometimes? that this is a period for me to b

Prayer in the spiritual realm.

Hello, if you would be bothered to read. I just put the more important parts in bold so you can just read those parts if you choose to. It's about prayer. Stuff that goes on in the spiritual realm. - "The Bible Prophecy Archive Combat in the Heavenly Realm I want to share with you from a testimony of someone who was saved, someone who had been serving the devil. And when that man gave his testimony, it so challenged me, I did not want to believe it. I had to go ten days before the Lord in fasting, asking Him, «Lord, is this true?» And it was at that time the Lord began to teach me what happens in the spiritual realm when we pray. This man was born after his parents dedicated themselves to Lucifer. When he was still in the womb, they made so many rituals dedicating him to serve Lucifer. When he was four years old, he began to exercise his spiritual power. And his parents began fearing him. When he was six years, his father surrendered him to the witches to go and be trained. An

God has foresight.

Image
God has foresight. I don't have much. But well, I thank God for a sensitive Spirit. Well, quite. Getting more sensitive as I obey more. So it's quite okay to not have that much foresight. As long as you can trust God. And obey Him. And I thank God for truth. That Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. (John 14:6) Because truth is so essential, especially so now in such a world. Truth gives you freedom. It sets you free. Because with truth, you are free to be. You can be real. I think it's very hard to not be truthful. Okay well it could be easy for some people but in the end the consequences = hard. So, it's easier to be truthful, you know. Know the truth and the truth will set you free (John 8:32). And thank God I'm not very good at lying. I think. It's good for me :/ And thank God He knows what's in our hearts. Because I doubt any of us know ourselves 100% full well. Create in me a pure heart, refresh my Spirit That I may do Your will in all that I do

Just a little girl

Let me share something I wrote years back. It's kiddy-ish. But anyway. Just a little girl In my great big school New things everyday God reveals to me Happy as can be Unreasonable I am not I like being me! Um. Take the first letters of each line and it spells "JINGHUI". It was some assignment. I think it still applies. Just that "school" doesn't literally mean school now I guess. The world is our school, yes? - Hello people, Love you all muchly, with the love of God.
