Sea is above land is above sea flip book

Image
Have you seen Sea is above land is above sea ? Well, here it is. Then you go back to the first image again... - The life you've always wanted (Bits and pieces) John Ortberg Martin Luther says, "A Christian is a perfectly free lord of all, subject to none. A Christian is a perfectly dutiful servant of all, subject to none". A disciplined person is someone who can do the right thing at the right time in the right way with the right spirit. “Walter Wink says that this is the message of John’s test: “History belongs to the intercessors – those who believe and pray the future into being.” Prayer is learned behavior. Nobody is born an expert at it. No one ever masters prayer. As Thomas Merton pus it in his book Contemplative Prayer: “We do not want to be beginners. But let us be convinced of the fact that we will never be anything else but beginners all our life!

MY SOCIO TUTOR GAVE MY ESSAY DRAFT GOOD COMMENTS!

HAHAHAHAHA! MY SOCIO TUTOR GAVE MY ESSAY DRAFT GOOD COMMENTS! AHAHAHA! Okay I'm happy cos this is encouraging cos sometimes in class when compared to the other students, especially the locals, I feel so shallow and not smart! Especially when they talk so eloquently and ask so many smart questions and make deep statements. But AHAHAHA! THANK GOD! And now, to edit that essay, write two more essays, and prepare for a presentation, all for next week! Okay yay I'm now motivated. :)))

OCF Easter Camp 2008

Image
Hello! I was away for 4 days at OCF Easter Camp! And it was refreshing to be a full camper (versus being very involved, in previous camps I've been to). I met some awesome people :) I wouldn't say the sermons made a great impact on me, but the bestest part was when Lisa, the ministry helper there, prayed for me. And God's presence was there. I've enjoyed the last 4 OCF Friday meetings I've been for, but I guess I'll enjoy it better now because after camp, I've seen what OCF is more about, and I've gotten to know its people better. So Friday night meetings will be more purposeful, maybe? I've also decided to join the Worship Team here at OCF Clayton (if they'll have me haha)! I've actually been struggling a bit, not being settled in a church yet, and not knowing whether to serve or not. But I think it's the right time to start committing and serving. I MIGHT HAVE A GUITAR HERE WITH ME FOR THE NEXT TWO MONTHS! Cos my friend lacks luggage sp

Sociology, home-going, a thought on teaching

I put up a countdown on my laptop dashboard but when I saw homecoming/going was 101 days away (unconfirmed), I decided it was too upsetting, and took it off. So I counted the weeks till I'd be back, and that wasn't too awesome too. So I shall stick to counting by the months! I thought studying psychology would be too tough because it would challenge my beliefs and way of thinking quite a bit. Now I am studying sociology, and it is challenging me in that way. But well, all things can be used for good. I have many thoughts about my readings and think they make interesting material to develop thoughts about society and write about, aside from my necessary essays which get me lost when they are made up of all but one sentence such as "Discuss the influences of socio-economic status and gender on the views expressed by the children in the film 7 Up ". But well, that other writing will come when I have time to invest. I must practice thinking in full sentences. You know how

Principles for receiving grace

I am in need of some grace! Always was in need of it. So well, here are some principles for receiving grace, as according to Pastor Mark Conner , as according to the Bible. Principles for receiving grace 1. Prayer "Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." -Hebrews 4:16 2. Godly living "But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD. This is the account of Noah: Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God." -Genesis 6:8-9 3. Humility "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." -James 4:6 "But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect." -1 Corinthians 15:10 - I'm learning to live in God's grace, and not by my own strength. God gives the necessary grace for each moment. So do not worry - you'll have it when you need it.

Accidentz Grotesk, and other things

For the designers, Accidentz Grotesk When I saw it I was like, ^.^ hahaha omg. Okay btw this is like, more than a year old so sorry I'm slow. How come it's Friday already? I thought a Friday just went by. I should so whack myself - I just spent an hour drawing, when I was supposed to be writing an essay discussing why it is important to study the media. And the drawing wasn't even nice. YARGH. Discipline. Discipline. Discipline. Now how many of us struggle with this thing called Discipline? I see your hand, yes I see your hand. - The life you've always wanted John Ortberg God’s purpose in guidance is not to get us to perform the right actions. His purpose is to help us become the right kind of people.

Ask and you shall receive

Indeed, ask and you shall receive! I asked my landlady if I could take the fan in the living room for my room (it's a hardly used room) and she said yes, in fact, she had a spare fan! Thank God! Cos the weather is like, Wed 30 degrees, Thu 36, Fri 37, Sat 35. Meaning, hot. - "The God of all grace who has called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast." –1 Peter 5:10

Psalm 62:5-8

Psalm 62:5-8 Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honour depend on God; He is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge. ...................................... Selah

Melb updates - Wii, Bunnings, Cold

Image
My room is the coldest in the house. I woke up today feeling quite cold, so it took me quite a while to get up. When I did, I went to sit in the living room where there was some sun. Until I felt hot. Then I went back to my room and you could feel the great temperature difference, so here I am back in the living room with my laptop. Dear sun please change direction as to where you shine so my room is warm during winter kthx. \m/ - Last Saturday, I visited Bunnings with Uncle Oliver and Aunty Lucia. It's this big store which sells stuff like hardware and gardening stuff and I don't know.. a lot of things. It's quite cool, though not of much use for me who doesn't buy much of such stuff. I bought a laundry basket, and I koped some papers from the paint section. So my window now has this: Hurhur. I would have taken more, but pai seh. The best stationery shop here is Officeworks. Unfortunately, it cannot compare to Popular. Popular is one million gazillion times better. Bu
