1. talk to God first!
2. take the initiative
3. sympathize with their feelings
4. confess your part of the comflict (humility)
5. attack the problem, not the person
6. emphasize reconciliation, not resolution

1. focus on what you have in common
2. be realistic in your expectations (ideal does not equal real)
3. encourage. not criticize
4. refuse to listen to gossip
5. support your leaders

we were created to become like Christ!
most of the time, the Holy Spirit's power is released in your life in quiet, unassuming ways that we are not ware of or can't feel...eg. "a gentle whisper" (1 kings 19:12) (but the same qn from me again. how do you know if it's your own self? or the Holy Spirit? ok. wait. *thinks*)
Christ-likeness is not produced by imitation, but by inhabitation. we allow Christ to live through us. it happens to us through the choices we make. we choose to do the right thing in situations and then trust God's Spirit to give us his love, power, wisdom and faith to do it. since God's spirit lives inside uss, these are always available for the asking.
** cooperate with the Holy Spirit's work
- the Holy Spirit releases his power the moment you take a step of faith
- obedience unlocks God's power (eg. joshua)
- God wants you to act first
don't wait to feel powerful or confident.
move ahead in your weakness, doing the right thing in spite of your fears and your feelings.
** God uses these to mold us :
- word : provides us with the truth we need to grow
- people : provides support (He wants us to grow together)
- circumstances : provides the environment we need to practice Christ-likeness
whatever path you choose, the most impt thing is to do it in a Christ-like manner.
