A New Act of Creation

Adapted from Elisabeth Elliot's "Passion and Purity". A New Act of Creation Calvin Thielman, pastor in montreat, North Carolina, tells the story of an old Scottish preacher who, as he was serving the bread (representation of Jesus' body) and wine (representation of Jesus' blood) of the Lord's supper, noticed a yong girl sobbing at the communion rail (where we usually receive the bread and wine). As he passed her the bread, visible sign of the body of the Lord Jesus ("I give it for the life of the world," He said) the girl turned away her face, which was wet with teasrs. "Tak' it, lassie," said the old man. "It's for sinners". - No sin is too great. He forgives. HE is bigger than all that. Draw near to Him, and He will draw near to you. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up. (James 4)

perfection is finally attained

As Saint Exupery said, “In anything at all, perfection is finally attained not when there is no longer anything to add, but when there is no longer anything to take away.”

The expanse of the sky is just. Wow.

MRT ride to work today, listening to Paul Baloche on my ipod, and looking out. The expanse of the sky is just. Wow. Car rides. Look ahead- looks like the sky does meet the road at the end huh. As a kid, used to wonder when we'd reach where we could touch the sky.

Does God want everything?

Does God want everything? "He gives all. He asks all. One morning I was reading the story of Jesus' feeding of the five thousand. The disciples could find only five loaves of bread and two fishes. "Let me have them," said Jesus. He asked for all. He took them, said the blessing, and broke them before He gave them out. I remembered what a chapel speaker, Ruth Stull of Peru, had said: "If my life is broken when given to Jesus, i is because the pieces will feel a multitude, while a loaf will satisfy only a little lad."" Taken from Elisabeth Elliot's "Passion and Purity". - Am at crossroads. Time to make many decisions. Time to be still. I'm not very good at listening to God's voice, you know. Learning. CCM . That's Christian Contemporary Music, on the radio. Check it out :)

"The flood which had beggared him made him rich."

"The floods washed away home and mill, all the poor man had in the world. But as he stood on the scene of his loss, after the water had subsided, brokenhearted and discouraged, he saw something shining in the bank which the waters had washed bare. "It looks like gold," he said. It was gold. The flood which had beggared him made him rich." -Henry Clay Trumbull - Ohmygoodness. Have you heard of Haha Crabs ? Haha. They're being sold at a little store at Junction 8.

I surrender these into Your hands

All of my ambitions, hopes and plans I surrender these into Your hands - I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know. But God, You know. And that is enough.
